Andante 2010: video on four colour screens, full HD, stereo sound, length: 8’38
Team: Ilan Cohen, Alexandre Icovic, Pierre Maillard, Guillaume Faure, Renaud Duguet, Nina Margot
Andante does not really tell a story but rather seems to develop a number of allegories. Coming into contact with this pared-down spectacle, its soundtrack punctuated by human footsteps, a haunting song, and electronic experimental music, one dreams of life itself, of life and nothing but. Passing bodies, the passing of time, passing encounters, the passing of memory, all are broached in taking the time to show the situations. Andante, an Italian present participle, means “going”, “who goes”, but neither slow nor fast. Taking the time to reflect upon life.
