My Nights

In front of the artist’s face, almost concealing it, black birds loom up. The two worlds do not connect. They remain distinct entities sharing one space-time, but without a common purpose nor the same will to live. My Nights creates a recurring and unending affliction. There is no option but to come to terms with this affliction, even if the longing is there to surrender, to sink, at last, in a soothing and remedial sleep, despite the threat of nightmares.
